چکیده

We present an update to the ultraviolet-to-radio database of global broadband photometry for the 79 nearby galaxies that comprise the union of the KINGFISH (Key Insights on Nearby Galaxies: A Far-Infrared Survey with Herschel) and SINGS (Spitzer Infrared Nearby Galaxies Survey) samples. The 34-band dataset presented here includes contributions from observational work carried out with a variety of facilities including GALEX, SDSS, Pan-STARRS1, NOAO, 2MASS, WISE, Spitzer, Herschel, Planck, JCMT, and the VLA. Improvements of note include recalibrations of previouslypublished SINGS BVRCIC and KINGFISH far-infrared/submillimeter photometry. Similar to previous results in the literature, an excess of submillimeter emission above model predictions is seen primarily for low-metallicity dwarf/irregular galaxies. This 33-band photometric dataset for the combined KINGFISH+SINGS sample serves as an important multi-wavelength reference for the variety of galaxies observed at low redshift. A thorough analysis of the observed spectral energy distributions is carried out in a companion paper.

The Westerbork SINGS Survey I . Overview and Image Atlas

We have obtained moderately deep radio continuum imaging at 18 and 22cm with the Westerbork array of 34 nearby galaxies drawn from the Spitzer SINGS and Starburst samples to enable complimentary analysis. The sub-sample have an optical major axis diameter in excess of 5 arcmin and are North of Declination 12. • 5. Sub-sample galaxies span a very wide range of morphological types and star format...

Evaluation of New MOND Interpolating Function with Rotation Curves of Galaxies

The rotation curves of a sample of 46 low- and high-surface brightness galaxies are considered in the context of Milgrom's modi_ed dynamics (MOND) to test a new interpolating function proposed by Zhao et al. (2010) [1] and compare with the results of simple interpolating function. The predicted rotation curves are calculated from the total baryonic matter based on the B-band surface photometry,...

Analysis of galaxy SEDs from far-UV to far-IR with CIGALE: Studying a SINGS test sample

Aims. Photometric data of galaxies covering the rest-frame wavelength range from far-UV to far-IR make it possible to derive galaxy properties with a high reliability by fitting the attenuated stellar emission and the related dust emission at the same time. Methods. For this purpose we wrote the code CIGALE (Code Investigating GALaxy Emission) that uses model spectra composed of the Maraston (o...

The Revealing Dust: Mid-infrared Activity in Hickson Compact Group Galaxy Nuclei

We present a sample of 46 galaxy nuclei from 12 nearby (z < 4500km s) Hickson Compact Groups (HCGs) with a complete suite of 1–24μm 2MASS+Spitzer nuclear photometry. For all objects in the sample, blue emission from stellar photospheres dominates in the near-infrared through the 3.6μm IRAC band. Twenty-five of 46 (54%) galaxy nuclei show red, mid-infrared continua characteristic of hot dust pow...

The Westerbork HI Survey of Spiral and Irregular Galaxies II. R-Band Surface Photometry of Late-type Dwarf Galaxies⋆

R-band surface photometry is presented for 171 late-type dwarf and irregular galaxies. For a subsample of 46 galaxies B-band photometry is presented as well. We present surface brightness profiles as well as isophotal and photometric parameters including magnitudes, diameters and central surface brightnesses. Absolute photometry is accurate to 0.1 mag or better for 77% of the sample. For over 8...
